Default Stats is fiat, rings are gold. there's no inflation or depreciation for championships

    1 championship in the 90s = 1 championship in the 2010s

Points get cheaper, assists are easier to come by, rebounds gets manipulated. There are more triple doubles than ever, more guys scoring in the 50s, averaging 30+, stats are basically worthless because it gets inflated each year. but the only thing that remains the same? 1 ring gets awarded every season

Stats are fiat, rings is gold. thats why championships remain the real barometer for greatness

Using "FIAT" & gold in a basketball comparison
The entire globe will soon abolish FIAT.

Are you blaming Bill Russell for his fortunate circumstances? That would be like blaming Duncan for his...

Ah c'mon now, we all know you gotta have the stats too, even if they're less important

Only MJ has goat-level ring count AND stats

And being top dog - Russell's rings are a little like Horry's

FMVP's tell the real goat story - maybe lebron is in there with Magic and Shaq (3 each), but one guy stands alone.. and in reality, only MJ was arguably the best player in every series he played... only MJ (goat)

Nah, Russell won his rings in a time when league was smaller and it was OBJECTIVELY easier to win rings beause of that.

    Not comparable.

Every single rebound Russell had went to winning. Plus who knows how many double digit blocked shot games that were not counted back then...

    What Statutory just said

Only 8 teams, so easier to be #1

And half the good players weren't in the league due to lack of scouting and politics/discrimination

MJ is goat of the modern era, aka goat
