How hard can it be to trace it back from retail to the middlemen?

Doesnt matter how you wanna shift the blame. If all the people involved at every step arent stopped, rhinos and elephants disappear. Pretty simple.

Root for the death of all the people involved at every level until the message is clear.

That’s like shutting down the cartels by arresting people selling dime bags. You will always have more poor villagers.

Or you can remove penalties for selling/consuming marijuna.

There isnt a comparably simple solution when it comes to poaching of endangered animals.
