He didn't get KO'd against Floyd.

Also nothing in the Floyd fight would have taught him anything that would help against Khabib. Even the overhand that he caught in r2 was very much NOT a boxing strike - any boxing gym in the world is gonna train that punch out of a fighter. It worked because of the threat of the takedown...

If anything, his mistake was boxing at all. Training for Floyd Mayweather must have forced him to adopt habits which would be detrimental once stepping back in the cage... especially against the arguably best grappler in the game.

But it's boxing where he made his biggest payday...

In the end, his legacy suffered because he was more interested in money, and his celebrity ballooned faster than he knew how to control.

Even the strikers who have the greatest success are either elite wrestlers who are impossible to take/keep down (Chuck Liddell) or bjj blackbelts who can submit you if you try (Anderson Silva). In fighting, grappling is the cornerstone. Wrestling and bjj are the premier martial arts on Earth (and Sambo).

It was a TKO...which is a technical KO. He would have been KOed for good though if the ref let the fight go any longer.

    Not close to true.

This is only the case in the UFC and cage fighting. Wrestling becomes far less effective in a ring, like Pride rules, where they can't pin up as easy against the cage then work for a single leg, or execute a takedown with palms locked.
