On the surface, a 4-1 first round exit for the Jazz seems like a disappointment, and while there may be some merit to that, a 50-win season and a hard fought series against a great Houston team is nothing to mope about.
a wasted year. Same team same results. Big surprise

64.4: Assist percentage -64.4 percent of the Jazz's field goals made were assisted on, the fourth best mark in the NBA. While the Jazz may have the identity of a great defensive team, they showed they have some of the best ball movement and offensive strategy in the league.
until you look at the turnovers from all that passing

39.8: Projected max salary cap heading into next season -If the Jazz are going to raise their ceiling, they will need to make some changes on the roster, particularly in the field of playmaking. If the Jazz don't pick up Derrick Favors' contract option of $16.9 million and they renounce the rights of Ricky Rubio, with the potential retirement of Kyle Korver, the Jazz could have potential cap space of nearly $40 million. That figure is more likely to be around $25-30 million, which could be just enough to try and lure a big name free agent to Salt Lake City to pair with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. Names like Kemba Walker and Tobias Harris are among the targets that many believe the Jazz should try to bring in. If the Jazz can create enough cap space and land a big name, fans could very likely still be watching the Jazz on TV this time next season.
might have won the championship this year with Conley but here we are yet again wishing and hoping and wondering what could be

But since great is the objective, that means the Jazz intend to change as they head toward the draft and free agency. Last year Lindsey and Quin Snyder embraced standing pat with existing personnel. It made sense, considering their surprising second-round playoff appearance in 2018.
it made no sense. Houston owned them. They had obviously flaws and two players to build around. Over 4 years now and we've only briefly seen what a team built around Rudy can do

If Paul Millsap becomes available in free agency, should Utah Jazz pursue reunion?
Should definitely be high on their list. Even at his age he makes more sense than Favors.

The NBA Conference Semifinals have featured a number of former Utah Jazz players putting on a show. Rodney Hood was the savior for the Portland Trail Blazers in their quadruple overtime Game 3 win over the Denver Nuggets. George Hill has been prolific for the Milwaukee Bucks off the bench and is a leading reason why his team has a 3-1 lead over the Boston Celtics.
Hill should be on their list as well

[QUOTE]But of all the former Utah players in the postseason, perhaps the one that has been the most solid has been none other than former Jazz fan favorite Paul Millsap. Millsap broke out in Utah by being a gutsy hustle guy that always played his heart out. The only frustrating aspects of his time with the Jazz weren

Harry Froling has multiple teams interested in having him work out for them, and sources tell ESPN that he already has work outs for the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, OKC Thunder, Utah Jazz, New Orleans Pelicans and the San Antonio Spurs planned. His team workouts will begin on May 10, so in the meantime Froling is working with an individual trainer to familiarize himself with the American style of game.

Does this mean the Jazz are likely to lure an impact player? That remains to be seen. But, it does mean they at least have a fighting chance. One player who has interest, according to sources: Tobias Harris. Harris is a 6-foot-9 combination forward who currently plays in Philadelphia. He

These moves could certainly shake things up.
You think? I've been waiting almost 40 years. Same old Jazz I'm sure. Favors is part of the answer. Ricky back in many scenarios and Dante too good for Conley Exum!

The foundation also supports Grizzlies Preparatory School which primarily focuses on educating, shaping and providing opportunities for young men of color in Memphis. Conley was awarded with the January NBA Cares Community Assist Award, and on behalf of Conley, the NBA and Kaiser Permanente donated $10,000 to Grizzlies Prep. He is also a finalist for the Seasonlong NBA Cares Community Assist award, to be named later in May.
