Indeed he made Barkley tougher and made him loose all the extra weight.

I'd forgotten just how good his up and under was. Right up there with McHale and Hakeem on that type of move. And he was also so skilled with his left hand...

Also, the way he seals off his defender in the post is excellent. So many bigs today could benefit from this, even if they don't have Barkley's natural power.

McHale has the most moves ever. Hakeem had the best feet of any center ever. And then you got Wilt and Shaq as the most dominant inside scorers. Barkley? He was a mix of the first two mentioned skill wise but also had the power of the last two mentioned. Never will we see again someone so small doing what he did. As Dr. J said regarding Barkley: "Some parts of the game where a little to easy for him"

Great way to describe him. Utterly unique and supremely talented player. Won't see his like again, probably in my lifetime.

Re: Charles Barkley's Post Up Moves (15:48 Minutes)
Great vid. Barkley had deft touch around the rim with either hand, an assortment of counters, fakes and up n unders, combined with power, great leaping ability and quickness. Still a unique talent to this day...

I'm always amazed by how some athletes can be so skilled on the court, yet sound so dumb when they get in the booth/studio to analyze the game.

the reason players generally aren't trained to jump before making a pass is because it's considered a wasted effort, unless some evolution-ed basketball technique makes such added effort to be unpredictable while increasing the efficiency of the offense
