Well the story i heard is that by 'checked' he means they got carded and he and his friends were not carrying ids.

I don't see how that's anything racial, they card whole groups not just individuals in the group it's likely the white guy went ahead or after them and he does look older than Simmons baby face. They are legally supposed to check the ids of anyone who looks under 30 years old and if he or that other baby faced guy in his group tried to walk in i imagine the entire group is being carded.

He's also not 'insanely famous' in Australia either, sure he is famous (I;'d argue FAR more name than face) but I could show the majority of people i know a random selection of NBA players faces and they wouldn't be able to pick him out. Most of the security there is made up of islanders or asian\indian guys in my experience, it's not some exclusive night club either they try to let anyone in because it's all about the gambling money.
