Thought Dunkirk was underwhelming though, atleast for his resume. Cinematics and historical accuracy were top knotch, character story otoh meh. One view in theaters was enough.
glad he's going back to the espionage inception feel, that's Nolan's bread n butter

dunkirk was all about visuals. it had no real plot, no character development, barely any dialogue. i think it was his artistic relief type of film.
kind of how actors who make it big, they take on an off-beat role to suit their "artistic" needs.
but he still found a way to make it a good film despite the 3 words spoken in the movie, and i mean good relative to most of the trash films released today. definitely nowhere near as good as his masterpieces.

You were looking for things in Dunkirk that were never going to be there.
That wasn't a "movie" so much as it was a cinematic immersion. The incessant music and fever-pitch tension were excellent imo. I loved it, thought it captured the visceral experience of war better than almost any other film.

It's unique, definitely a different spin of a WW2 flick.
Not your bread and butter Nolan sci fi
It's really one of those movies best seen in Imax, great cinemetography
But there's very little dialogue throughout the film or much character building, it's like a blend of 3 different themes tha all meet together in the end.
Still 8/10, saw it once dont really feel I need to see it again
