    No way. The original is great and captures the dark, evil Freddy Krueger perfectly. By part 3 the series was becoming a comedy.

    There's quite a bunch, but not many horror sequels


    Lots of part 2's in trilogies get the nod, people love a good bridge film because of loose ends, anticipation and inability to gripe about endings


    The Two Towers comes to mind the most, where despite #1 + #3 being classics the 2nd was so overwhelming that it was seen above both. LOTR will be a timeless classic for a long long time
