Why is Kobe still in the GOAT discussion?
The only argument is he had the closest play-style to MJ, that's it. Their stats, efficiency, results, etc. are wayyy off.
He was 12th all time in 2015. And now 14th all-time.
He is tiers below Jordan, LeBron, Kareem, and those guys.
Why even compare Kobe to either LeBron or MJ?

Kobe is one of the greatest out there no matter what you trolls are saying.
Better than Jordan and LBJ though? No way in hell.

2001 untill 2013, his numbers definitely weren't "way off" to championship years MJ.
Wasn't allowed to stat pad from day one like others.

Re: Why is Kobe still in the GOAT discussion?
Kobe is in zero actual GOAT discussions. He is a literal worse version of MJ so he has zero chance.
He is a top 8-10 player of all time though. No way you can put him out of the top 10 at this point.

Very good NBA starter
Re: Why is Kobe still in the GOAT discussion?
Kobe is not in the GOAT discussion. He shouldn't be either. He is not in the top 5 all time. It's no shame. He was the best in the world at one point for a few years. Won 5 rings. Played as well as he possibly could. He was not as talented as some others were (physically, like LeBron os Shaq, or just pure basketball talent like Magic or Bird). He (Kobe) still managed to become a great great player. Mostly because he worked his ass off.
You may argue he is not top 10. Doesn't mean shit if he is number 9 or number 14. So what? If you were a Laker fan in his 20 years playing there, you were very well served. There was emotion, drama, some huge games, many wins, etc. I personally have Kobe in the top 10... borderline. But I have no problem with someone arguing he is 'only' number 15. All time. Like... ALL time.
Get back to me guys when you are the best in your state/country for any given time. Or when you crack the top 100 in your state/country for any given time in ... whatever.

kd , kawhi, luka all going to bring kobe down more and more. In 10 years he won't even be a top 15 all time player anymore..

Let's go with this idea. He won't be. Okay. Then what? Should we feel worse? Will any of the good moments we had watching him play go away? Should they just go away as we look back? What exactly is you think going to happen?
