Ive never like this argument. I guess the argument is that there was less competition because there was 8 teams but each of those tesms would be pretty loaded and a threat. Fast forward to this era and theres way more teams but how many are actually a threat. Not 30 thats for sure. Maybe 5 or 6. So really its no different than when Russell played because your really only competing against a handful of teams.

I see your point, but you're assuming the league had as many star players then as they do now, which is just false.


Out of the 8 teams, the 3 worst teams had 1 star each and the league only had 3 teams above 500 out of 8. Look it up.
