Are Lakers in the Finals if Kobe doesn't rape Pippen in Game 7?

NBA rookie of the year
Re: Kobe's underrated 3-peat impact
Shaq would've won 5+ rings with any other top 20 guard at the time. Kobe limiting them to 3 is underrated in terms of cancer impact. It's a shame his destructiveness cost us so much over the years. Without LeBron, not sure we would've ever recovered

Probably not. But then again, he wouldn't have needed to if Kobe hadn't wet the bed in the game 2 loss with 2/9 and game 5 loss with 4/13.

Kobe was a true superstar 2001-2013 regardless of how many rings he won. We know level of play is > rings.
Kobe is top 8 all time no matter what.

Shaq, Duncan, Magic, Bird, Hakeem. Who do you rank Kobe ahead of?

All of them, although Duncan and Magic have a case to be ranked higher it's apples and oranges.

Kobe isn't better than KD or Curry. Or West. Or Barkley.

So he didn't save Game 3 or ball out in Game 6? Shaq was terrible in the last two games of that series.

What point are you trying to make?
Shaq was the far better player in the series.
No, Kobe did not save game 3.
Who the fck cares if Kobe "balled out" in game 6 after laying an egg in game 5 at home?
Shaq drew twice as much attention as Kobe, and still wasn't as bad as Kobe was in games 2 and 5.
You muppet.

KD has an argument, Curry doesn't yet. Barkley doesn't.
As for West, it's hard for me to rank players who didn't at least play in the 80's, due to how primitive the NBA was before then (Kareem is the only guy from that era that I consider).
My tiers are (rankings get harder for me tier 5 and on):
1 - MJ
2 - Kareem, Lebron
3 - Shaq, Bird, Magic
4 - Hakeem, Kobe, Duncan
5 - Karl Malone, KD, Barkley, Garnett, Moses Malone
I don't rank guys like Wilt, Oscar, Bill Russell, Jerry West, etc. in my "modern rankings". Too me, the era they played in was just too different. If the NBA added a 4-point shot...then for me that would also start a new era.
