Why was 4/2 enough for MJ in 1998 but 12/10 wasn’t enough for LeBron in 2017??
No, I'm comparing apples to apples

MJ didn't rebound as much as Horace, but his assists were equal or greater than Pippen's, and his scoring was at least 10 points greater in every series.

that's a bigger gap over his teammates than Lebron, due primarily to his ridiculous scoring edge that Lebron's puny edges in rebs and assists can't offset

it's a shame that Lebron needs and equal scoring partner and closer to win a championship - he only scored 2-5 more than his 2nd option in his Finals wins, compared to 10-20 for MJ (carry-job for all Finals)

Lebron had an all-star teammate or recent all-star for every year of his career

Otoh, MJ had no all-star from 85-89'

Overall, lebron had 7 all-star teammates and won 3 rings.. MJ had 1 and won 6... No comparison

Imagine having two defensive anchors (Pippen, Rodman) as your sidekicks

1990 doesn't count due to Pippen having a damn migrane, the Bulls took the Pistons to 7 games in the ECF,that same Pistons team went to the finals and beat the Blazers in only 5 games. So Jordan would have had 7 chips and probably more than that if he didn't retire in 93.

Pippen making the All-Star team in 1990 instead of 1991 was always kind of weird.

    In 1990 (All-Star season) he averaged 16.5 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 5.4 apg

In 1991 (not voted to All-Star team) he averaged 17.8 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 6 apg

And yeah it was impressive that the Bulls nearly made the NBA Finals over a great team like the Pistons in 1990.

So now certain all-star seasons "don't count." The OP's talking point is poor since it doesn't factor in all-star quality play where people missed it due to injuries, a snub, etc. but the non-stop MJ stan contortions are always amusing.
