In countries with multiple smaller political parties, I wonder if this is the time for someone to rise up through a message of security and safety.
Like, why shouldn't we put a lot more focus on our healthcare and being prepared for times of crisis, now that we've fully realized that something could come along and kill us at any given time. The bi-product would be that we could all get better healthcare in times of non-crisis.
The message would be very simple to get through and there are so many easy examples to use. E.g is it a good use of effort and resources to build a BMW only to blow it up in a movie, when the effort and resources could have been applied to making hospital supplies and save lives?
