He's definitely above-average at his position and he's also showed the ability to guard bigger players as he's bulked up over the last 4-5 years. He's a great team defender and I haven't seen any evidence statistically that would point to the Warriors' defense being worse with him on the court, I believe it's been the opposite for the majority of his prime.

    I dont think so.
So Kyrie making one contested shot over Curry proves Curry is a bad defender? One shot!

Its not just about making shot or not. But the fact, Cavaliers targetted Curry as the defender, and wanted to avoid any other Warriors player. They run the play for Kyrie, so that Curry defends him. Because the Cavs believed Curry defending gave them best chance for scoring. Basically Curry was weakness in defence to exploit, at least in Tyronn Lue eyes.
And also in Steve Kerr eyes, who actually had Klay over Kyrie defending. But Cavs got the switch they want, good job by Jr Smith there.

That's a really dumbass logic, is this one of wheel's 100 alts? Of course Klay is going to defend Kyrie. Pre injury he was one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, it would idiotic to have anyone else defend. That's like putting Iggy on Lebron and saying Dray can't defend because they're putting someone else on him. Steph had one of the lowest FG% in the entire playoffs just 3 months when defending, but yeah.. lets use one series from 6 years where he was limited physically due to some injury issues. That'll show them.
