Great movie. Surprised they haven't made this into a TV show.

Brick by Rian Johnson is a movie that predates his becoming a big star director, but Knives Out, that he did last year, and was superb, really comes out of that vain more than his pop stuff.

It's an interesting take where it's like a classic film noir but set in a high school. It's from 2005 I think, so figure it as a young Joseph Gordon Levitt playing a high school version of Jack Nickelson's JJ Gittes from Chinatown.

I know some people who find it a little too weird, but I like how he sort of goes for it (like the way it feels like the theatre department is across town). It's got some warts, Lucas Haas I'm not super fond of. But it's a really interesting watch.

I think this is a terrific film.

Since talking about him, 13 Conversations About One Thing (also from the same year) is also very good.
