Yes, they likely go back to back remember that the lakers would be weakened as a result they would have most likely meet Denver or the rockets in the finals in 2009 and in 2010 the Suns. Gasol shut down Dwight in the 2009 finals compared to what he did in the ECF vs the Cavs.

Not sure how it would work, honestly. LeBron is the PG this year and somehow, Anthony Davis' Assisted 2pt field goal numbers have dropped dramatically. Pau Gasol's went up playing alongside Kobe and the Lakers were a more half-court set oriented team. LeBron would have needed a better sidekick who was also a guard. If he has Ray Allen those years, then perhaps he wins a chip.
