I know....it sounds like it wouldn't amount to anything. But, you just have to use extra virgin olive oil and you will be quite surprised how flavorful it actually is.

Out of a jar, Rao's is the one I prefer. We only eat pasta rarely in my house and if we're gonna have pasta, we make sure we have enough time to make the sauce ourselves.

If you want good sauce you have to make it yourself

heat some olive oil in a pan
(optional) add some meat to the pan
add some diced onion, a couple cloves of pressed garlic, and one or two sprigs of basil to the oil
when the onion and garlic start to brown, deglaze the pan with a little vodka or red wine
once the booze has evaporated, add a can of san marzano tomatoes
crush the tomatoes and let the sauce simmer for a while until it thickens
(optional) add a little cream and/or butter
remove the basil sprigs
season with salt, pepper
combine with pasta
top it off with parmesean (the real stuff not the fake pre-shredded)

this will blow the doors off any sauce you can get in a jar

Actually legit except you only need the oil + cheese if the noodles are cooked well.

I didn't scan to see if someone was like I MAKE MY OWN SAUCE, but I don't mind Ragu. It's good nuff. Get a lil frozen garlic bread, gg.

The key is noodles and cooking them right.
