This is going to be an interesting season. Newton is nothing like Brady...but Josh McDaniels drafted Tim Tebow and then tried to bring him to the Patriots before he went out the league so maybe McDaniel's offense is supposed to have a big strong running threat QB? Even though we've never seen it here in Boston. Also want to see if Newton can ever be healthy again.

Can’t say I’m surprised; this is vintage Belichick if you look at value vs. risk. Cam’s not a barn burner but he’s too good to just not be on a team at his age, injuries aside. I never bought the narrative locally that Belichick was happy to let Stidham have the team this year.

I don't think Cam is washed up. The dude is still 31 and in his prime. I think he is well-rested and hungry. That might give him the drive to take the Pats to the playoffs at least.
