Listening to some of his albums post - eminem show... Relapse in particular... some of these songs show a truly frightening state of mind that would make Edgar Allen Poe blush. Buffalo Bill, Stay Wide Awake, 3 AM etc. Even that one song Curtains down where he simulates a mass shooting at the end of it. This mfer really pushed boundaries of art. It's like horror slasher rap.

But DMX has a gang banger revenge type theme to it. Eminem raps like a serial killer picking on weak prey.

Kim is shocking, but not nearly as sadistic as what he describes in some of these songs. The creativity presented shows he thought about this type of stuff A LOT.

Eminem was soft as shit until he bit the Detroit Acid Rap/Wicket Shit legends that came before him. Esham, Natas, ICP, House of Krazees, and Dice. Also the east coast hororcore rappers RA The Rugged Man, Necro and westcoast Siccness Brotha Lynch and X-Raided.

Listen to Infinite Eminem was a wannabe Nas and Az until he went horrorcore with the Slim Shady gimmick.

I've listened to pretty much all of big L... his two big time albums, freestyles etc. He wasn't true horror rap to me, but i really liked his music. Platinum plus and deadly combination with tupac are unbelievable tracks. The best "horror rapper" i've heard outside em or X is Big Pun.

DMX has always been out there with that stuff. A lot of Eminem I feel like he’s being a calculated troll and specifically pushing certain buttons purposely. What’s crazy is if these guys were born 20 years later we would have never heard their music. Increased censorship leads to less creativity.

In mid 90’s brotha lynch and X-raided were big. Their music is probably the worst. My girl has effectively banned me from playing any of it when she his around. I would usually tell her to deal with it but this I can understand.
