NY state has the most covid deaths in the US by about a mile (32.4k deaths)... while the next closest is NJ with 15.8k deaths.

In other words, the most dense city (that's where the NYS Coronoa deaths predominantly were) and the most dense state--both which are located next to each other.

Probably the wrong time to visit any city or even busy town right now.

Probably the right time to visit a wide-open nature spot, beach area, etc.

I believe that today, because of the pandemic, the most favorable places to travel are in Europe, in particular Germany. They have one of the highest percentages of vaccinated people there, so the quarantine measures have been relaxed a bit.
