Nothing has changed when it comes to Windler, which is at least mildly surprising after he missed his entire rookie season with a stress fracture in his lower left leg. The Cavs view him as a core piece of this rebuild and are prepared to give him a big role in 2020-21. The leaguewide view hasn’t changed either. Sources say he’s the most asked-about player in talks with other teams — even though the Cavs have no interest in dealing him. It makes sense, too, because he’s such an easy fit and playoff-caliber squads (Golden State and San Antonio) were eyeing at him at the back of the first round before the Cavs grabbed him at No. 26.

Miami’s Duncan Robinson, a fine young player, has been erased through the first two games. It reminds me of Bob Myers’ famous declaration at the 2019 Sloan Conference, wherein the Warriors team president and general manager said, “The playoffs are nothing like the regular season. They are two completely different sports.” Based on this principle, the Myers Rule is as follows: A lack of versatility is playoff vulnerability. The example Myers used was shooters. Specifically, how little they mattered once the Dynasty Warriors were through with them. “That two feet of space you had in the regular season is two inches (in the playoffs),” Myers said. “You watch how many cannot make a shot in the playoffs and shoot 42 percent in the regular season. You watch the playoffs; you’ll know who can play basketball.”

The Jazz can't play big or choose not to with their two rookies that are actually PF's. But let's keep talking about Favors, draft picks and wings!

Rudy Gobert shared his support for Uyghur Muslims in China on Instagram Thursday. The Utah Jazz center is the first big name from the NBA community to speak out against the human rights violations in China since Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey shared a tweeted supporting protestors in Hong Kong last October.

Gobert shared a viral post from French actor Omar Sy condemning the government in China which has been accused of detaining several hundred thousand Uyghurs and sending them to “re-education camps.” “Millions of Uyghur Muslims are detained and tortured in concentration camps in China,” The caption for the post read. “Not for what they do, but for who they are. It is the largest mass incarceration of the 21st century. It has to end. #FreeUyghurs.”

He might make some sense. He's been mentioned before because he played for Snyder in the Gleague

It’s simple: this maneuver allows them to reallocate some of Conley’s meaty 2020-21 salary figure to future years, while also keeping this new core together. The Jazz still don’t feel like they’ve gotten an earnest chance to see how good the roster they’ve built could be together. Conley struggled, then was hurt, then had to work his way back to starting, and by the time he had done all that, the new core had only a month or so together before it was Bojan Bogdanovic’s turn to miss time. They’d like more time to see how good the Gobert-Mitchell-Bogey-Conley core could be, especially with a smart rotation upgrade or two.

I think we have a pretty good idea how good it is offensively. Need to get better defensively though

Could we work out an extension then sign and trade him?
No doubt Conley is a great guy and a great player, but he is a lousy fit with the Jazz.
On offense, Mitchell needs to be the PG. And on D, having both guards 6’1″ or shorter is an enormous liability. The Jazz woould be much better off with a 3&D guy, 6’4″+ running with Mitchell, and we could get that at half the price of Conley.
I think it can work. Conley needs to come off the bench. Still play him big minutes just start someone bigger. Bojan and Clarkson need to go. Need a starting PF!!!

We’re talking about the difference between a 19-year-old and a 22-year-old. Spoiler alert, it’s not that big of difference.

in the NBA it is though. Look at the difference between Bradley at 19 and 22. I doubt he'll improve as much by 25

Several rival executives have pitched the Mavs as a trade destination for Rudy Gobert, who is eligible for a supermax. I get the thinking — a rim-running center to stabilize Dallas’ shaky defense — but I can’t get there. Devoting $65 million combined to Gobert and Porzingis when the latter needs to play a good chunk at center is not optimal.

Makes little sense unless you trade Porzingas which I'd do in a second. He's no Rudy
