Default Why did Rajon Rondo not work well in Dallas?

Rondo was 28-29, in his prime. He was to be free agent, and Dallas cost him millions of dollars.
    Why it didn't work out?

Rondo is sort of eccentric with his own way of doing things. He didn't mesh with the coaching staff and didn't play well in Dallas.

Yeah I get the feeling that Rondo is motivated by wins which is good for teams that make the playoff.

Playoff Rondo is a real thing. He is clearly far more focused and motivated in the postseason than he is in the regular season. His playoffs in Chicago, New Orleans and now LA has proven this.

And why didn't he work well in Sacramento and Chicago? I think Rondo is the type of player who thrives in certain environments, winning environments to be clear. He can't stand losing, as some posters have already said. Also, IIRC he clashed a lot with Rick Carlisle, who threw him out of the team in the middle of a play-off series.

Well, there was Dirk Nowitzki & Rick Carlisle. Add to it other solid guys like Richard Jefferson, Tyson Chandler.

Tbf they were in the playoffs and largely lost because of him.

He pouted and pretty much tanked.
