    I highly doubt it.

-Prince used to open up for Rick James & the Rolling Stones in the early 80s.
-Commodores used to open up for Jackson 5 in the 70s
Motown Revue tours in the 1960s would feature Temptations, Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gayes, Four Tops, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles with at least half of those at a time.

A regular night at the Apollo in the 50s or 60s would feature James Brown, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, sometimes all together.

Texxas Jam had some pretty sick lineups back when it was a thing.

    The 1979 version featured

    TKO
    Sammy Hagar
    Van Halen (With DLR)
    Nazareth
    Boston
    Heart
    Blue Oyster Cult

In 1987 the show had Boston, Aerosmith, and Poison, among others. The next year featured Van Halen (with Sammy), Scorpions, and Metallica.
