The top 3 are inarguably Mahomes, Wilson, Rodgers in no particular order

then after that it get debatable...I think i'd have Brees and Brady to finish off the top-5 though.

watch out for Kyler .... he's not quite there yet but he's coming

Its borderline criminal that nobody in this thread has even mentioned Lamar Jackson yet.

No doubt Jackson is having a down year compared to last year... but are we supposed to believe that it was a total fluke that he was unanimous MVP last year while setting the all-time record for QB rushing yards and leading the league in passing TDs? Mahomes threw for 5k yards and 50 TD in his first full season as a starter, and then had 4k yards and 26 TD the following year (when he went on to win the superbowl)... did his skill decline during the regular season of that second year, or was his performance impacted by outside influences like gameflow, matchups, luck ...etc?

If were trying to account for the impact of play calling and offensive scheme, Wilson has to be bumped way up the list... poor dude has spent virtually his entire career with dipshit coordinators like brian schotty that ignore/minimize his talents

Mahomes got hurt... Jackson just isnt a good passer.

if jackson isnt a good passer then how did he lead the league in TD passes and put up a 113 passer rating? (#2nd in the league, just 3 points behind #1 Brees)

its not like Jackson was being helped by great receiving talent last year... ffs a sophmore mark andrews lead that team in recs, yards, and TDs

He's a decent passer but not top 10 if we purely go by talent and it shows. The boxscore can be very misleading. There's a reason why Baltimore struggles when playing from behind, if he was a good passer in terms of being let's say top 10 in that category, his team would have more success playing from behind, but he's been able to be as efficient as a passer due to the effectiveness of their running attack, since the opposing defenses build their game plan around stopping the run. This doesn't work once his teams fall behind 10+ points and they have to be efficient with the clock.

We've seen plenty of flukes from non-passing types do that. Cam did that once, made the super bowl, got trounced and never came close again. RG3 and others too. Sometimes it takes the league a season's worth of film to adjust to these super elite rushing QB's. And once they start to force them to throw they flounder.

Lamar got shit on in the playoffs last year. Mahomes won the Super Bowl. Mahomes is a GOAT passer. Nobody should ever trust these rushing QB's who can't throw... I watched McNabb, Vick, Griffin, Cam, and now Jackson.... you're never winning with these types. Russell Wilson is the first great rusher I seen who can throw and shocker, he's a super bowl champion. Rodgers used to be able to run a bit too.

Pretty much, if a QB rushes better than he throws, you aint winning shit.

Colin Kaepernick too... always got deep in the playoffs but never made into the big stage.
