Trump supporters are the most terrified group of people on the planet.
I've said this often myself that the far-right and the Trumpers are absurdly paranoid and conspiratorial people. The news is out to get them. The Left is out to get them. The Deep State is out to get them. The mysterious child-raping satanic cabal is out to get them. The FBI is on it. The DOJ is in on it. Everyone who criticizes Trump on the internet is a shill or a Chinese spy. Everyone who presents the facts and argument against their paranoia is "in on it", too.
It's gotten to the point where they're unable to really do anything except stick their fingers in their ears and squeal at any dissenters, which is childish and counter-productive.
I keep the Cult of Trump book next to me whenever I post and he describes this behaviour to a T when explaining how cults operate and how their leaders control their members. Most disturbing is the legitimate parallel between earlier Hitler and Trump. Hitler was a conman with a gift; he knew how to weaponize lies. He convinced the Germans there was a Jewish anti-German conspiracy trying to destroy Germany, exterminate the white race, and replace them with subhuman mongrels.
Because of Hitler's daily lies, the Nazi's believed there was some massive conspiracy against them and they were victims. That's the key to understanding the Holocaust; they thought they were fighting a righteous war against evil. When intelligent people with facts and arguments tried to explain to the Nazi's Hitler was a conman and was lying to them, Hitler literally called it "fake news", which in German is "Lugenpresse".
It's disturbingly similar. Hitler's minions are like MAGA hatters; they're convinced they're the good guys and liberals are evil demons, and see themselves as victims of some sinister and global conspiracy to exterminate White Americans and replace them with "inferior" people.
Actually, QAnon-tier thinking is precisely the impasse preventing realistic and workable solutions to the worlds problems. But Trumpism and QAnon tier-chit are essentially rebranded fascism; where you must "trust the plan" and not care about the lies and crimes because there is a great awakening coming by an authoritarian strong man. It doesn't matter if Trump is lying or evil or some interdimensional time traveller, what matters is that you trust the plan that "needs to happen".
The unifying theme is a desire for a restorative authoritarianism, for some "alpha" male to come back and put everything in its proper place. The goal is to sympathise with the notion that the world has gotten too complex but Q lays the blame at the people who demonstrating the complexity. In essence it is like the Flat Earth theory; aiming to simplify the world.
Therein lies the psychological appeal of Qanon and Trumpism; it takes the mind-boggling chaos of the world of millions of people shaping the world in all different ways and reduces it to a single entity.
So don't point the finger at anti-trumpers and anti-CTer's, for we understand the nature of the world and that progressivism is difficult. We need to understand the world's problems are pluralistic and hyper-complex and require those sorts of solutions. Whilst conservatism is an elixir to the idle mind where the world would be naturally fine, if not for the evil manipulations of the leftists and you remove this one single group and every thing is OK again.
But peddling in 18th century Hegelian meta-narratives won't MAGA or make anything ok again.

The "Qanon" thing is such a strange new age phenomenon, made big enough that political candidates who openly believe it are even voted into office.
Recently a lot more has been made to discredit the movement than in the past.
Personally I agree with you that it was a psyop made to get people to sit on their asses and "trust the plan". So while that argument would imply that the Q posts have accomplished nothing, we can again look to the whole movement created out of this and conclude that isn't true.
Here's the fresh, fun and interesting Q rundown, hot off the press:
This is "ECW", giving his speech today, talking about JFK.https://twitter.com/HuberHammerQ_/st...24041257574408
Related:
This is him:
The guy singing here with the JFK kids at 0:50, who does that looks like? What's in the title of that video if you watch it on YouTube? I mean it's just ridiculous stuff, I guess the YesQ can be inserted there through the upload.
And this is apparently him on Parler, talking about declassification and what not: https://parler.com/profile/EWillHelpYou/posts
There is Q, there are anons.
There is no "Qanon".
Absorb.
------
Election fraud and widespread systemic corruption are not conspiracy theories. They are facts we deal with and fight against.
I wonder though, when Biden takes office if all this just goes away and how those Qanon people elected for office are going to act as part of government.

Ivana Trump, the Don's first wife, claimed long ago that Trump kept a book about Hitler and his speeches next to his bed and was an avid reader about Hitler...take it for what it's worth.

If that's the case, it makes it even more interesting that a movement could be built around it.
ECW's speech being reminiscent of JFK's, that's very real though and he gave it in a public announcement of his new job as head honcho for intelligence.
Also real:

One good news is we still have checks and balances and no technical means for a president or any person to take over for life. Remember, Hitler had the Reichstag burned down, which he used to declare emergency and used those powers to destroy the German Constitution. We don't have such a clause (thankfully) so Trump is powerless. He is getting tossed out on January 20th whether he likes it or not when a new president is sworn in.
