Nique was so good! He had some epic duels with MJ and Bird. Had a pretty long career as well but really never had teams to do much damage. This game is a highlight reel. Peeps should watch this.

Dominique was the only player who outscored Jordan that many times in their duels in the 1985-93 period. I'm not a subscriber at Stathead, but I think he outscored him about just as often as vice-versa in those 9 years.
Larry Bird was probably the next closest to doing this, but couldn't stay reasonably healthy for nearly as long.

Nice find. I had no idea so many of Jordans best plays were from this one game.

The 2:58 mark shows Dominique's patented move - only Dominique did this move, or certainly he was the best at it.. in previous eras, everyone developed their own way to score ON defenders, as required by the lack of spacing

The very next play shows Jordan's quick instinct, as required without spacing..

And the 3:55 mark shows Jordan in a no-spacing spot and therefore required to shoot ON defenders (which today's spacing avoids, so they aren't good at contested non-layup 2-pointers)

4:07 shows Dominique with a no-spacing shot ON the defender.. previous eras were far superior at contested non-layup 2-pointers

Did anyone ever do the "carry the ball high on the gather to squeak between defenders" like at 4:40 before MJ? I know at least half a dozen famous plays where he did this off the top of my head.

MJ and Nique played eachother 48 times (45 regular season and 3 playoffs) and Nique outscored him in 21 of those games.

So Nique outscored Jordan in 44% of their encounters.

Nique's most impressive showing was probably his 57 points to MJ's 41 points.

    MJ's best was 61 to 34.

There was one game where MJ outscored Nique by 1 point, 16 to 15.

Dominique faced Jordan in the 1993 Playoffs, and lit up Pippen for 30 ppg (pippen averaged 15 on 39% and was outscored by Willis too)

    Taking Cleveland apart....

Whole package. Putbacks, post game, mid range, transition highlight dunks, half court posters, spot up and off the dribble threes. Nique will never get full respect for his scoring skill set because he’s always considered a dunker fist.

Kind of like Vince. They just get looked for their dunking, mostly because they didn't have great post-season success. Shouldn't take away from either guy.
