Because prime Lebron's playstyle is to make role players better, but by doing so you have to become a role player first. Otherwise, you will not be able to fit into Lebron system and will become an iso player on your own. This is the fundamental flaw in Bronball, it sharply improves your floor but limits your ceiling, since to win with a bunch of role players is difficult. Lebron system elevates role players, but downplay all-star level players. Its no surprise that Lebron's teammates could not make it to all-NBA teams with his system.

And why is AD able to flourish? Well AD is one of the rare types who is compatible with any systems, even Lebron ball. On the other hand, old Lebron tried to adjust his play style and allow AD and Rondo to run the show from time to time. Maybe he learned from the mistakes in his younger days, or its the balance he has to make since hes no longer able to run his system efficiently at age 35-36.

Why didn’t any of LeBron’s teammates get better once they left LeBron (Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Love)

Wade, Bosh and Irving all got better after leaving Lebron. Wade was already old and close to end of his prime so he fell off quickly, Bosh retired due to illness but he was definitely better than the 12-14 years. For Irving theres no need to explain much, he got way better.

Wade got the same stats with LeBron as without LeBron

How did Irving get better? He went from 27ppg in the Finals to 22ppg and missing the playoffs
