Lebron has lost the chance to surpass MJ ever since he lost in the 2007 NBA finals, as a 100% winning record in NBA Finals series is one necessary condition for GOAT that Lebron will never be able to accomplish. One loss in NBA Finals series is sufficient to disqualify a player from GOAT conversation.

Note the debate is only alive 'cause Lebron is still playing and has just won a title not long ago, once he retires there will be absolute no argument anymore. Instead we will see the media rooting for the likes of Luka Donshit as the next GOAT.

Jordan lost his case at GOAT in 1987, when he got swept in the first round two times in a row.
Losing three times in the first round = Automatic disqualification from ever achieving GOAT status

We only compare the ceilings when it comes to GOAT conversation, which is NBA Finals record in this case. No one cares about first round performance, we aint compare the likes of Melo and TMac.

If we compare the ceiling, then any of Jordan's finals opponents fall well short of LeBron's 2012, 2013 and especially 2016. So ceiling or the opposite, LeBron beats Jordan.

Not really especially when he won bronze medal twice. He also lost to Dwight Howard with HCA and never turned a franchise that drafted him into a dynasty like Jordan did.

Lebron's team was favorite to win the title in 2012, 2013 and 2016, so the argument that he faced stronger opponents is invalid as Lebron had better teams than the opponents. See for yourself:

It is worth noting that Lebron's team was also favored to win in 2011, 2014 and 2015, and he lost in the finals despite having a better team. In the 6 straight years that Lebron had the best team, he only managed 3 rings. On the other hand, MJ was favored to win in 5 years(1992, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 1998), and he won all 5 out of 5.

They were underdogs going into the finals (you know, after the preseason once we actually see how good teams are) in each of those years, except 2011 and 2013. Also, the Bulls were heavy favorites over the Magic in 1995 and lost.

You are an idiot. 10 NBA finals, won rings in both conferences. Went to 8 straight NBA finals. We don't give a shit about 6-0. The competition was not the same for MJ and LeBron in the finals. So please, shut the fk up moron.

Wait, so mentioning Jordan's first round exits and 1-9 record in the playoffs shouldn't count, is misleading, etc. The only thing that matters is the finals.
But when it comes to who was the favorite, then talking about who was the favorite in the actual finals (LeBron winning as an underdog in 2012 and 2016) doesn't count, and what really counts is who was the favorite in the preseason?

Man, Jordan stans/LeBron haters are priceless. Always good for a laugh.
