Trump didn't do anything to get in the middle of it. It was OPEC, which is very powerful organization. They control the global supply and oil barrel prices. Take it up with them. Biden doesn't control OPEC either. If opec opens up the oil supply then oil prices would plummet again, but they don't want to. They prefer oil prices to go up. Biden can't make opec to do what he wants - this is not American exceptionalism where you roll in with destroyers and aircraft carriers to threaten opec

Sanction who? All of the OPEC nations? They produce something like more than 50% of the world's oil, and they set the global oil prices/production/distribution. If you put pressure on them, prices go up even more

Anyways, OPEC decided this week that they will not be increasing production anytime soon. OPEC will not meet again until early April. Demand is picking up globally, especially as more businesses open up & more vaccines are given (travel restrictions will slowly begin to open up), so be ready for oil prices to go up even more.

On top of that, our Texas oil refineries had to slash production too in last 2 weeks due to the cold spell. Some are still severely impacted and down, going through repairs and/or slowly being opened up.
