But more importantly it's about how they came up short; twice losing as favorites to Bucks and Heat, once blowing a 2-0 ECF lead to Ty Lue, then the year prior swept and outcoached by David Blatt.
Stevens is simply one of those big name coaches that continually gets a pass for being mediocre. Lots of reg season hype that silences in the post season.
3 conference finals without having a to 10 player is not mediocre. Your judgement is ridiculous. They didn't just get beat by Blatt and Lue they got beat by Lebron James, the guy you endlessly stan.

3 conference finals Stevens lost. Yes
They're not handing Semi Conference trophies. How many of those wins came against another Top 10 player? Heat didn't have a Top 10 player
Irving, Tatum, Horford, Brown, Hayward, Rozier, Morris was a solid rotation and Stevens got backdoor swept by Giannis/Middleton 1-2 punch.

On paper, yes that's a talented team, but it didn't work out on the court. Irving was an absolute headcase, Tatum had gotten shot happy, Brown never knew what option he was on a given night, Horford was okay, Hayward was hit or miss with his constant injuries. Rozier was shot jacking because supposedly he sacrificed the most when Kyrie came back, and I personally liked Morris. He played with grit.
The Bucks were the better team that season. Could the Celtics have won? Yes, but the locker room drama was too much to overcome.

And that is still 3 conference finals. If losing the conference finals means a team is mediocre then 28 out of 30 teams are mediocre. If you are going to take a standard like that then your words mean nothing.

Jimmy Butler played elite basketball in the playoffs. You keep on with this finals-or-bust mentality that makes no sense. There is no coach that would not get fired at some point by such a standard. 28 coaches aren't going to get fired every year.
Ikrving, Tatum, Horford, Brown, Hayward, Rozier, Morris was a solid rotation and Stevens got backdoor swept by Giannis/Middleton 1-2 punch.
And this year that did go badly they still won a round and the team that beat them featured a player that won the next two MVP awards.

My patience is wearing thing with Danny Ainge far more than it is with Brad Stevens. Danny builds these teams.

Yup, bucks were better even if you used to say that giannis hasn't done anything significant at all.

Tatum isn’t a superstar.
I assume you limit superstar to 1 to 5 guys? Not all of the teams that have them win either.
Poor roster. Stevens is an average coach. If he had any real success he would have moved on already on his own. He’s done there
