He needs both. At this point, to be #2 all time he just need to keep up what he is doing now for 3/4 years

Probably MVP considering how historic it would be.
But the best thing for his legacy at this point of his career is stacking up points and eventually breaking Kareem's all-time scoring record.

He's already reached the highest possible level for biological life in the universe. Hes numerous uno. Consensus at that.
That said, one more mvp or championship and he surpasses UY Scuti in the universal scale

Title of course, he will surpass Magic with 5th ring and very close to Kareem. An MvP without ring will not improve his legacy much.
