Why was Melo double and triple teamed vs Lakers?
The league is still afraid of Melo winning matchup against Lebron because Lebron lacks competitiveness to go at him. So league intervenes on his behalf and uses defensive schemes designed to slow down star players such as double teams, triple teams, box and 1.

You should find something more important than basketball to lose your mind over. "The league" is not going to dictate the Lakers' defense, the Lakers; coaching staff decides how they guard certain players. So (assuming Melo was doubled, I didn't watch) that defense would be the Lakers deciding that sending multiple guys at Anthony gave them the best chance to win, not the "the league" protecting LeBron James from your competitive lunacy.
