Can Star Wars geeks explain the last set of sequels to me

I think Disney bought the franchise and proceeded to intentionally kill it because they are Christian and conservative.

The core coolness of the whole Star Wars concept was "The Force". Unfortunately, this whole concept was barely explored. Instead the focus seemed to be on the technology and space aliens.

I've never watched past Leai flying in space. I busted up laughing and immediately shut off The Last Jedi after that and have no interest in ever watching the 3rd movie.
