Of course i miss it. This is the NBA on NBC!!!!. Early 2000s was the bomb. It had everything

Highlights were guaranteed every night in each category

You could count on sick contest dunks in game and posters almost every night provided by Kobe, Vince, Tracy, J-Rich, Stromile, Desmond, Ricky D
Sick passes by J Will, Kidd, Nash
And1 style ankle breakers by A.I, francis, Baron, Wade and Skipp

You stayed all 50 minutes waiting for the sports center top 10 to see what Vince did

It had brawls. Pistons/Pacers, Nate vs Jr smith

    Killer dunk contest: 2000, 2003, 2005
    Killer allstars: 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004
    The best rookie challenge: 2004

Epic 3 point contest between Dirk, Ray and Peja

We had practice. The dress code, the rape case, Shaq vs kobe drama, birth of the black mamba, the backboard dunk and Nba 2k5 at $19 dollars.

Whoever says early 2000s wasn't cool is a younging or straight retarded

Gosh, I miss the old NBA theme song. We used to have exciting stars like Shaq and Allen Iverson. In the 90s we had Jordan. I mean seriously, do we have anyone in the game right now that's even close to comparable to Shaq? And before Shaq hit his prime, we had so many hall of fame centers in the game like David Robinson, Patrick Ewing and Hakeem.

Every team had stars. When you played NBA Jam at the arcade, every team had icons. Now, you don't have that many stars. Maybe a handful. Every year all these players that make the all star team are names you have never heard of. And their names aren't even as catchy. Back then, you had so many catchy names like Sprewell, Iverson, Rodman, Pippen, Barkley, Shaq..

You had guys that could actually play a position instead of guys now that don't even have a position. At point guard you had guys like Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, Steve Nash, and John Stockton. These guys were specialists. At center you had Shaq, Mourning, Hakeem, David Robinson and Ewing. At power forward you had Garnett, Duncan, Malone, and later on guys like Gasol. Nowadays you mostly have guys that run and play the wing. It's not exciting.

I guess we should feel very lucky, those of us that got to watch real basketball. We got to watch some of the best and most exciting players. They were real players, passionate about the game. They didn't just play to impress people on twitter.
I couldn’t have said it much better. Beyond that, it was so good in the 80s when I was a kid and 90s I still watch today in hopes of catching some nostalgia

Most old heads are too biased/close minded.

On the other hand, I am way more open minded and have better taste.

Curry ****ed up the game imo. All the players now just Jack up 3s.

I miss the days when players actually drove to the basket hard at every opportunity.

    He didn't.

It's boring watching players chuck up midrangers and post up incessantly.

Right. You gonna act like last night's game wasn't complete garbage? It was one of the worst allstar games ever. The worst since 2016. This generation in a nutshell. All 3s and no defense

I enjoyed it. It was better than any All-Star game from 1991-2003.

The 90s was all about midrange chucking and post ups.

I thought the all star game was fun. The guys looked like they were having fun out there. Got to showcase some skills. One of the better games to be.

Such a dumb ass. 2000, 2001 and 2003 were some of the best ones ever. First off, they were competitive, they tried to play defense and most important of all, it wad multiple great dunks to remember. Last night, not a single memorable dunk, none.
