Wrong,in his prime he had number 2 potential we just never got to see it. Of course on the warriors he was a 3 or a 4 on most nights. But in his philly days he was their best player and was getting them to the playoffs every year but even as a 76er it was clear he would never be good enough to be a number 1.

We have short term memories , but he was all-star caliber and when he came on to the Wars everyone said that they were LOADED.

He should not be a HOF'er but he was a difference maker, and that is why he was named MVP of the finals.
I can think of several players after their careers saying they never got respect , but did they have the impact as IGGY ??

Prime Iggy is one of the most underrated guys ever. Elite defense, elite IQ, clutch, great playmaker, good scorer. Just a beast. Doesn't get enough credit. He's a huge lockeroom plus

I felt like many years of Iggy were wasted in those 76ers teams where he was a number one option when he should've been a number two or even number three option on a great team. It just better fit his talent and playstyle. His defense always has been awesome. He found the perfect role in Golden State later in his career.
