Conley makes them a lot better defensively. Get rid of Clarkson and Favors and move Bojan to the bench and get more defense while not giving up too much spacing wise

D’Tigers coach, Mike Brown, has named 12 NBA players in his 49-man provisional list for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, which begins next month. The men’s basketball squad has opened camp in California. Headlining the list of NBA players is Denver Nuggets’ point guard Monte Morris, who recently declared his intention to represent Nigeria.

For all the disappointment, Mitchell's performances on a bum ankle were nothing short of sensational. His strong will to win was also manifest in his postgame comments.
He always sounds good post game. I need to pass more. We need to defend more. Samw old Mitchell ISO and no D game after game

For Jazz fans and management, this is beautiful music. The team's most dependable player, and the face of the franchise, will hold himself along with teammates and management accountable.
Wouldn't the most dependable player be the one that doesn't miss games and has carried the team the past 6 plus years?

The outcome of the draft lottery will be helpful for the Jazz who saw the top two picks in each of the last three drafts made by Western Conference teams. Though the Rockets still own a top-two pick, the West won’t be replenished with talent among the lower-tier teams.
really? We're worried about the perennial tankers now too?

The Tokyo Olympics basketball tournament begins on July 24 and will feature at least two Jazz players in Ingles and Gobert. The games could features as many as four Jazz players this summer depending on whether Bogdanovic and Ilyasova can get their teams to qualify in the FIBA tournament.
they have to make their teams. Oni and Udoka might be there too

what's important is that they get better somehow. The draft might do that eventually. Not immediately

Georges Niang, Juwan Morgan, Ersan Ilyasova, Jarrell Brantley, and Trent Forrest will also be free agents this summer.
I'd look to bring all of them back if it was me

    https://kslsports.com/462165/conley-...jazz-what-ifs/

The Jazz have a relatively short, but painful what-if list that has radically changed the history of the franchise.

Though Wilkins never won a title in Atlanta, he was a nine-time All-Star, a seven-time member of the All-NBA team, and would have helped make the Jazz a superpower in the 80s alongside Karl Malone and John Stockton.
wasn't as good as Dantley and they wouldn't be in Utah

While Mitchell, Conley, and Rudy Gobert would have fit nicely in that grouping, late-season injuries have robbed them of a chance to do so. As the team’s championship drought continues, Mitchell’s ankle and Conley’s hamstring have earned their spots on the list of great Jazz what-ifs.
Would have been nice to have had Conley but a different coach, a PF, some defenders all would have been nice as well

What was made clear through the Clippers series is that having depth and options is paramount in the postseason. When Kawhi Leonard went out with a knee injury, the Clippers had another player ready to step in. When the Clippers wanted to have more dynamic playmakers on the floor, they had players that could step in. If they wanted to play big they could, and if they wanted to punish the Jazz with small ball they could.
    they did have those options

So who does the NBA media world think Utah will take with their pick? Well, in looking at nine mock drafts (all the major ones I could find that have been released since the lottery results), there’s not much consensus. But there is one theme that can be found: the Jazz are gunning for defense on the perimeter.
Need a pg unless they think Forrest will be able to shoot. One with size ideally to play next to Mitchell or Conley eventually

The one thing not present in mock drafts is the idea of the Jazz taking another center. But even if Utah wanted to pick a center, No. 30 is a bad place to as there aren’t many centers around that part of the draft. Instead, it’s heavy with wings and a couple of point guards, and that should play to the team’s advantage come draft day.
Center is the last position they need

DPOY Rudy Gobert was the downfall of the Jazz’s defense once again
Bullshit. You got to look at the guys that don't defend at all first

Lindsey has a reason for fear: Former Jazz guard Dante Exum tore his ACL while playing for Australia in the summer of 2015 following his first season in Utah. He had played all 82 games, even winning the starting point guard spot in the back half of the year during his rookie campaign. He hasn't played a full season since.
Maybe the Wizards fave player too

Lillard was not impressed with the graphic design effort from one fan who evidently wanted to see him in a Utah Jazz jersey alongside Donovan Mitchell.
Doesn't make much sense unless it's instead of Michell

Donovan Mitchell was frustrated, and he was sad. “Kind of sick,” the Utah Jazz superstar remembers feeling. “Helpless is a good word.” This wasn’t after last Friday’s season-ending loss to the L.A. Clippers; it was back in September, when news broke that there would be no justice for Breonna Taylor. Of the three white police officers involved in her death in Louisville, where Mitchell went to college, only one had been charged with a crime — and that was for firing into a neighbor’s apartment, not Taylor’s. “The bullets that missed are what he was held accountable for — that, for me, was really shocking,” Mitchell says.

“I think we all understood, in the bubble, that what we’re doing is not going to have an immediate effect now,” Mitchell tells me. But when the 24-year-old left Disney World, he kept insisting to anyone who would pay attention — especially on his Trump-eyerolling, vote-pushing, #SayHerName-ing Twitter account — that the persistence of racist killer cops was systemic, and that NBA players and owners could chip away at the system by demanding government action.
    – via Matt Sullivan, Condé Nast @ GQ.com

“Just to be in a room — or a virtual room — of thinkers,” Mitchell recalls of the coalition’s first meeting in March, “that’s what I was excited about.” They talked about local legislatures foisting voter-suppression upon 18 NBA cities, and they cleared the air. “We had worn the shirts, we were still pushing it like we did in the bubble…. We all had our ideas, but we came with a plan: Not necessarily everybody sees that until it comes into—” Mitchell snapped his fingers, as if ready to break out into Schoolhouse Rock on the team bus “—a bill!”

According to his agent, Jelani Floyd of Beyond Athlete Management, Tyler Etienne has already worked out for the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks and Boston Celtics and has workouts scheduled with the Golden State Warriors (June 30), Brooklyn Nets (July 2) and the Phoenix Suns (July 6). He is also receiving interest from the Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, Utah Jazz, Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors.
