Thumbs up Minnesota's defense is going to be GOATED next season

Took me awhile to spot Rudy.

If he could hit the 3, the Timberwolves could make noise next season

A defense starring Edwards, Russell and Towns is going to be GOATED? Good luck.

they lost beverley and vanderbilt who were two of their best defenders

gobert should make them a better team but my guess is they won't win

might depend on how good edwards becomes in the next few years

Why would it be significantly better than Utah's last year?

Top 5... Maybe. We'll see. I'd be shocked if worse than 8th.

I love D'Lo and Towns as players but they're not going to be apart of an elite defense with the current roster. At best I think Minny is somewhere around 10th on that end unless they move D'Lo and add some wings. They traded two really good defensive players to get Rudy. They're still going to have the same issues on D in the POs as they don't have enough D on the perimeter, so Rudy again is forced to cover up for everyone's shortcomings and they might be forced to bench him to have enough on offense as Rudy will clog up the paint on O.

Towns' biggest issue is team defense. Having bad team defense is the hardest thing to hide and it makes the other defenders around you less effective. Towns is such a frustrating player to watch because it's constant mental lapses and absent mindedness. Hard to believe that this guy went #1 largely off of his defensive up side.

Gobert hasn't had a starting 4 next to him the past 3 years. Really other than the corpse of Diaw fo a few months he never has had a modern one. Now he will have one of the best 4's in the game next to him. Not having to grab every rebound should help Gobert defensively

Poor man's Tyson Chandler ain't gonna change that much.

But he's lucky to be playing next to KAT because KAT can do everything offensively, whereas Gobert can't do anything. So it's a good fit

    i doubt they'll bench him

he is number 1 all time in true shooting percentage after all and towns is the goat outside shooting big

yeah his defense seems to fluctuate year to year to some extent but was never that good overall

you could say he shows signs but it's hard for any player to put it all together at the same time on both ends
