    Default 2020 Playoff MVP

    2022 - Stephen Curry
    2021 - Giannis Antetokounmpo

How about this year? Finally a bit interesting. Lebron and Davis are neck and neck.

They are pretty close statistically aside from Bron averaging a near triple double, but I'd give it to Lebron the Fmvp pushes him past in a close one.

I'm posting a comparison of Lebron vs. Davis in 2020. Obviously only the playoffs matter for this vote. The statistical metrics do a poor job representing defense where Davis was clearly superior to Lebron.

    Regular Season

    Basic Stats

    Lebron James: 25.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg (1.0 o), 10.2 apg, 1.2 spg, 0.5 bpg on 57.7 %TS (+1.2 rTS) with 3.9 topg in 34.6 mpg (67 games)
    Anthony Davis: 26.1 ppg, 9.3 rpg (2.3 o), 3.2 apg, 1.5 spg, 2.3 bpg on 61.0 %TS (+4.5 rTS) with 2.5 topg in 34.4 mpg (62 games)

    Advanced Stats

    Lebron James: 25.5 PER, 9.8 WS, 0.204 WS/48, 8.4 BPM, 6.1 VORP
    Anthony Davis: 27.4 PER, 11.1 WS, 0.250 WS/48, 8.0 BPM, 5.4 VORP

    Impact Stats

    Lebron James: +9.9, +9.58 RPM, +2.57 LA-RAPM
    Anthony Davis: -3.0, +2.53 RPM, +1.16 LA-RAPM

    Accolades

Lebron James: 2nd in MVP Votes, 1st Team All-NBA
Anthony Davis: 6th in MVP Votes, 1st Team All-NBA, 1st Team All-Defense, 2nd in DPOY Votes

    Playoffs

    Basic Stats

I'm really not. I'm just posting the numbers so people don't have look them up.

I see them as co-MVP's. Both were equally important to the Lakers' title. Similar to Magic/Kareem in 1985 where I also can't choose. Curry/Durant is also super close in 2017 and 2018 IMO.

I've seen enough, it's AD when you consider he was the defensive anchor and rim protector.

    Bron fam meltdowns incoming.

About as close at it gets statistically.

I'd probably give it to Lebron because he was the leader.

This is as contested a choice between two teammates as we might see the rest of the countdown. I'm giving LeBron the very slight nod over AD for his playmaking and leadership, while being the clear best player between the two in the Finals. But if there were ever a year for co-MVP's, this would be it.

AD's 2020 playoff run is better than a lot of alpha dog title runs in many other years. Crazy how dominant he was.

And it must be KILLING Bron fans how close this argument is.

LeBron at age 35 blew away MJ at that same age if you look at what they did in the Finals/playoffs. MJ would have been LeBron's sidekick as well.

To say Davis is neck and neck with Lebron isn't even a diss on Lebron. In 2020, Lebron had an amazing playoff run but Davis was simply that good too. For example Davis in 2020 was much better stats and impact-wise than someone like Dirk in 2011. Obviously Dirk was the sole offensive star and had to face a lot more defensive attention so it's not that simple but Davis' 28/10/3 on +10 rTS is historic offensive production. And then he was a DPOY level defensive presence.

Lebron does have the intangibles like experience and leadership.
