A billionaire's plans for a utopian city in the desert, called Telosa
"During the panel discussion, Lore narrowed down the probable location of Telosa, saying the team is looking at parcels of land in Nevada, Utah and Arizona. The goal is to have 50,000 people living there by 2030, he said."
"For example, Lore said, autonomous vehicles operating on city streets would make the streets safer for pedestrians and reduce costs because streetlights and street signs wouldn’t be necessary. The roads could also be narrower, providing more room for walking and biking."
"Telosa will have 36 districts, each of which is envisioned as a “15-minute city”: It will take residents of each district no more than a 15-minute walk or a shorter bike ride to reach their daily needs, including offices and living spaces."

It's a cool idea to have some cities out there like this, to test what works and what doesnt. It's clearly a future we're inevitably moving toward.
But there are significant long term obstacles to managing these things peacefully and equitably, which do not get mentioned in the press releases.
It'll be interesting to see what happens tho.

Autonomous is not the future. Micro mobility is. Idk if any of you have ridden a an euc (electric unicycle) or a beefed up escooter but they make moving around a city so effortless

These nikkas are out of pocket with this proposed city. Neither nevada nor Zona’ have the water capabilities for 50k new nikkas. Lack of water is a growing concern in this region.
