Default LeBron doesn’t take contested jumpers

NBA.com... 94% of Lebron's shots outside of 10 feet are either "open" (4-6 feet from closest defender) or "wide open" (6+ feet), compared to 77.1% for Harden, 82.0% for Bradley Beal, 77.8% for Kawhi, and 66.6% for KDGoat (in 2019).

this shows a massive lack of jumpshooting skill compared to his peers.

There's no defense for guys hitting contested jumpers, so they require double-teams - Lebron doesn't even attempt contested jumpers, so that explains why he doesn't get doubled.

Rather than take contested jumpers, LeBron gets himself and his teammates open for good looks or uses his physicality to get to the rim because he has a high bball IQ and isn't a shot jacking ball hog.

    Got it.

So Lebron's rudimentary skillset uses his teammates as bailout options instead of being the bailout guy/closer himself.

    got it

Lebron is a plodding, ball-dominator without the threat of hot jumpshooting, so his scoring isn't devastating enough for coaches to compromise their defense by doubling him..

Only hot jumpshooters require getting the ball out of their hands, and Lebron isn't that.

Naturally, his ball-dominant approach (no hot jumpshooting to worry about) is preferred to seeing the ball move, which is why Kerr doubled Lebron on less than 5% of possessions in the 2015 Finals..

That's why his 39% shooting was hilarious - despite single coverage, he simply couldn't maintain efficiency at the higher jumpshooting volume (carry-job volume)..

Again, at carry-job volumes, Lebron lacks the efficiency, brand of ball and elite jumpshooting skill needed to defeat maximum defensive attention (carry scoring load in Finals).. Since he can't carry the scoring load, he needs all-time scoring help and can't win with secondary-producing sidekicks (Wiggins or Pippne) and a weaker cast of cheap defenders

To be fair, since he's not good at making contested jumpers, you can't really fault him for not taking them.
