As currently constituted, the Jazz also will have too many players for the roster: 11 players with guaranteed money, Malik with a team option, and intent to resign Clarkson in free agency. And Utah could prospectively be adding 3 rookies?
depends on the rookies? Certainly makes more sense than signing the bum. Let's see what things look like after the deadline maybe?

His size and defensive limitations next to a trio of guars in Conley, Sexton, and Clarkson have been poor. Despite his prolific shooting from deep, he’s boasting a true shooting percentage 3.9 points below league average.
again 30 year old bum or 25 year old Beasley? Easy choice

Such a deal frees money up next year, lands the Jazz a player in Grayson Allen who’s already 80-90% of Malik, a promising rooking in Beauchamp, and a future pick. That would be a home run of a deal for Utah.
loved Hill when he was here. Grayson not so much but maybe could like him without COTM but he's not very likable!

Would an Olynyk reunion interest the Celtics? Unlike some of the other players on this list, he’s not on an expiring contract, but only $3 million of his deal is guaranteed for the 2023-24 season. Based on my calculations, a package of Gallinari, Griffin and Jackson would fall just shy of reaching the NBA trade limit for matching Olynyk’s salary, so the Celtics would need to add further money to the offer. That could be a deal breaker for Boston, which would then need to include Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser or Kornet in the swap.

While Clarkson is distinguishing himself as an elite scorer, he’s not an elite shooter. In fact, he’s one of the league leaders in missed field goals for the year. Clarkson is hitting 35.1 percent of his threes, a tick above his 34 percent career mark.
he's not a shooter let alone elite

Both of the teams based in Los Angeles appear to be interested in Conley, as do the Minnesota Timberwolves, who may have better odds to acquire the guard than either of the squads out in La La Land.
doubt they want to help Minnesota

Young isn’t going anywhere. The same goes for Murray. Collins is the most likely one on the way out, of course, and it’s worth repeating that the asking price is known to have decreased significantly from recent years (per league sources, there is a focus on landing a quality player, or players, in return but no mandate for a first-round pick). That development is clearly a reflection of the focus on salvaging this season, as opposed to recouping the vast assets lost in the Murray trade with San Antonio in the summer. As we’ve reported recently, the Jazz and Rockets are known to be among the teams in pursuit.

What potential 2023 NBA trade deadline move Jazz would regret (msn.com)

Jazz will regret holding onto Jordan Clarkson and regret trading away Jarred Vanderbilt
pretty much depending on the price for Vanderbilt as with all trades.
Clarkson needs to go for whatever price you can fetch!

The Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz have had exploratory conversations centered around star guard Russell Westbrook, league sources tell Bleacher Report. However, the Lakers are said to be in communication with most teams to sift through the most reasonable and logical options available. Westbrook has found his comfort zone as the team’s top reserve, placing him in the conversation for the Sixth Man of the Year award. Though his play has improved since accepting his new role, he has remained available for trade.

I think that a lot of Jazz fans are so accustomed to the rigidity of the rotations that Quin Snyder had, that’s it’s really different to have a head coach that is willing to make such big changes. I imagine that it’s probably pretty refreshing.
no its normal. Not making an adjustment in 3 straight playoffs was hard to deal with

Jackson has been looking good of late. Maybe the Jazz will look at him after the trade deadline when some roster spots open up?

I get that trade from a consolidation aspect, but go only get 1 pick in return for bailing out the Lakers AND helping the T'Wolves (which hurts us) seems to be undervaluing what we just gave 2 teams.

could end up being only a 2nd rounder. The cap space is the big thing here I guess. Opened a roster spot(actually a few with the expiring deals). Jones has a player option. Helping Minnesota is the surprising thing to me. He makes them better. Gobert hasn't fit with anyone better. Nickeil might help them as well
