He was the second leading playoff scorer for a championship team in the 90s.

His ppg average during those playoffs? 13.8. Over 38.3 minutes per game.
His shooting percentage during that 13.8 ppg average? .376

Second leading scorer of a championship team. That's the 90s for ya.

You're beginning to sound like 3ball. Maxwell wasn't a great second option, but that just makes Hakeem look even better. You're forgetting the opposing team's second option (like 3ball). They were often outplaying Maxwell. That doesn't mean the Rockets were garbage (as a result, the 90s), that just means Hakeem was that damn good. Here's each series from the '94 playoffs and their second (and sometimes third option) option production.

    '94 Starks: 18 PPG on 37%
    '94 Harper: 16 PPG on 46%

    '94 Hornacek: 17 on 48%

    '94 KJ: 27 PPG on 44%

    '94 Strickland: 24 PPG on 50%
    '94 Robinson: 16 PPG on 41%

These were solid teams with solid scorers and Hakeem still managed to smack them all back to earth.

Yeah MadMax wasn't anyone's 1st choice for a 2nd option. He played with alot of fire though and was one of those role players that could get hot now and then get you 25-30 a few times a season. Oh and he was clutch af. He hit at least one gamewinner that I can remember, but maybe more than that. That's one thing that always slips under the radar whenever guys discuss Dream's supporting cast in 94 and 95. He didn't have a Pippen or a Stockton but the role players here were one of the mentally toughest units I've seen. Several role players that could step up big in the clutch. Big part of the clutch city moniker.
