Never understood why parents use their children in family business commercials

I see it a lot on my area, especially car dealership ads. You'd think they'd get teased mercilessly at school. Kids yelling the commercial jingle at them etc...

Maybe things have changed... there was a kid at my elementary school who was in a bunch of commercials because his dad was very well paid to direct them, and the kids pretty much thought he was the coolest kid in the school since he was regularly on TV and lived in a mansion.
