For his career MJ shot 83.5% from the foul line. Last season only 46 players beat that.
If today's players are so much more skilled why aren't more guys beating that? There are over 400 players in the NBA.

So Jordan could get 40 without threes or with threes... Whenever he shot above 1.5 attempts, he shot well on threes, while Luka is shooting like garbage at 7 attempts with high turnovers..
No one is averaging 40ppg for a whole season in this era because no one is going to shoot enough AND play enough minutes.
Harden got close but that's because no one else can spam high-volume threes and insanely high free throw rates like he can.

It's ludicrous to say that MJ couldn't get up enough shots
Probably one of the more absurd things anyone can say

I wouldn't respect someone jacking up that many shots tbh. Who the hell wants to play beside someone like that?

Most of the all-time great scorers could likely score more than their averages depending on the make-up of the team. KD has like 3-4 30ppg seasons but if he was on a team where he could just shotjack carte blanche, he could easily drop 35ppg every year if he wanted.

Despite a slow-paced series, Jordan averaged 40 ppg in the 93' Finals with great efficiency and low turnovers
This was to 3-peat
So everyone already liked playing with that

In 1987, Jordan took 27 two-pointers per game at 49.1% = 13.3 makes per game (26.6 pts)
But if Jordan shot 60% on 2-pointers like Luka in today's spaced-out beginner format, he would have 16 makes for 32 pts .. so shooting at today's higher 2-point efficiencies would easily get Jordan to 40+ ppg
Case closed
Btw, league-wide efficiency on 2's is 54% compared to 49% in 1987, aka spacing and open paint effect

Lol, so the NBA should be about the players just feeling good being buddies with teammates rather than winning? MJ was all about whatever it took to win and not just to make teammates feel happy.

Other Alpha type stars wont like it, but there are plenty of very good betas in the league who would accept supporting roles for team success.
