Question Which Utah Jazz era was better? D-Will, Boozer, AK-47, Okur ... or D-Mitch and Rudy

    Title.

Which team was better at its peak? The 2021 team had the best SRS, net rating, seeding, and record. But was the Western conference tougher in the aughts?

    06-07 Jazz:
    - 51-31
    - 3.06 SRS
    - +3.1 net rating
    - Made the WCF

    07-08 Jazz:
    - 54-28
    - 6.86 SRS
    - +7.4 net rating
    - Made 2nd round

    08-09 Jazz:
    - 48-34
    - 2.31 SRS
    - +2.8 net rating
    - 1st round exit

    09-10 Jazz:
    - 53-29
    - 5.33 SRS
    - +5.7 net rating
    - Made 2nd round
16-17 Jazz: [No Donovan Mitchell yet. George Hill season]
    - 51-31
    - 4.00 SRS
    - +4.3 net rating
    - Made 2nd round

    17-18 Jazz:
    - 48-34
    - 4.47 SRS
    - +4.5 net rating
    - Made 2nd round

    18-19 Jazz:
    - 50-32
    - 5.28 SRS
    - +5.2 net rating
    - 1st round exit

    19-20 Jazz:
    - 44-28
    - 2.52 SRS
    - +2.5 net rating
    - 1st round exit

    20-21 Jazz:
    - 52-20
    - 8.96 SRS
    - +9.3 net rating
    - Made 2nd round

    21-22 Jazz:
    - 49-33
    - 5.67 SRS
    - +6.2 net rating

The newer team would win a series I think but better run I suppose depends how much you value the deeper playoff run.

From a “You win or you lose” everything but the ring is losing standpoint you take the better run of good records.

I suspect Deron, AK47, and Okur might all be more dangerous today though. Okur at least had the league bend more to his strengths but his defense would stand out as worse.

Similar matched teams. It’s close enough not to argue with anyone who feels either way.

Okur couldn't guard in space and Boozer didn't defend at all. AK and Deron would certainly be dangerous today

as the underdog in the playoffs, in the bubble, with their 2nd best player out and COTM making no adjustments when Malone went big

first team had a better run for their era. the 21 team is the best of the bunch however. Yes they choked vs the clippers without kawhi last few games but they deserve some credit for going 2-2 to start with no conley against a really good clippers team with prime kawhi+george. That team was stacked with shooting, had 2 6moy candidates and yes conley deserved to be an all star

That you both act like the team wasn’t good enough in his run to win anything and that they had a third best player who could put up 36/5/5 on 53/52/95 in a series is amazing.
