Doberman Pinscher.... what happen to their popularity?

Spaniels, German Shepards, and Labs were popular in the 70s just like Doberman Pinschers were. But unlike the others that are still popular today, it looks like they've been replaced by pits and rotties. I don't think I'd ever own a pit, but I love(d) my Rottweilers and Labs. They are extremely loyal as are pits from what I've heard. I've read that Doberman Pinschers are too smart. They think for themselves and their own best interest rather than the undying loyalty to their owners. I guess like a cat. Just my uneducated opinion

Dobermans are my wife's favorite breed. We currently don't have one (I've had Dobermans too) but we're moving to a bigger house in the near future and plan to adopt a Doberman.

He obviously favored her since he was with her and her sisters years before I even met her

pitbulls are dominating the US market ... Dobie's are still around , but their security is pretty aggressive for businesses as well as home owners.

Shepard's were put in the same light.
Two quick stores : I used to get parts in a junk yard, and when they closed they let out the dogs into the yard.
Taking a part off of a car, and looked up and two dogs staring me down. More for show than for dough... lol.

A town somewhat close had over 5000 guns, and stopped by one day , and they just closed, on the other side of the door was 4 dobies barking like
I was their next steak dinner.

A friend cut his boxer's ears and prepped them like a dobie ... looked cruel , but year later that dog looked impressive.
