He was low key versatile on the offensive end. Could handle the ball, pass, & shoot. He was one of the first players to use the 3 point shot as a weapon.

Re: Today I learned Danny Ainge ....
I'm not shocked. He just usually didn't shoot 29 shots a game! I mostly remember him being an annoying pest in Phoenix and throwing the ball straight at Mario Elie's face in .... 96? Oh and Robert Horry throwing a towel in his face when he was his coach.

They crap on him because he's white and played in MJ's era, they use him to troll MJ stans.
But any level headed person knows Hornecek was a very good player.

Titles are overrated
Re: Today I learned Danny Ainge ....
He was one of the few people to be all American in football, baseball, and basketball and he played in both the nba and mlb. He’s one of the best all around athletes. Maybe ever. It is unbelievably hard to be nba and mlb level at the same time.

Re: Today I learned Danny Ainge ....
Ainge was ahead of the curve. He wanted the Celtics to take more threes back in the '80s. I can't remember where I heard/read it. I think McHale mentioned it when asked about the modern game.
