Paul Pierce and Other NBA Players Calling LeBron the GOAT
Paul Pierce - "Honor to say I had a chance to match up with The GaoT I’ve alway never acknowledged u as King but u Truly the King #lRespect no player in NBA History had the pressure coming in the league to exceed expectations not only have u live up to it but u have surpassed it #allhailtheKing"
The Truth has spoken.
Jaylen Brown - "The greatest !! congrats to @KingJames"
Dejounte Murray - "LeBron James Is The GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!! GOAT Debate OVER!!!!! GOAT"
Draymond Green - "This WILD!!! Unreal. Actually doing this like THE GOAT should!"
And more from other website if you want to find all the other players. An entire army of players no longer think Jordan is the GOAT. How devastating is this for Jordan?
Paul Pierce put LeBron at #2 after the 2020 Championship. And now with this he puts LeBron at #1. By consensus having the all time scoring title is worth at least 1-2 more championships on your resume.

Let’s use your logic. But also having the all the time turnovers title is worth 1-2 titles off your resume.

Also there is no logic here because LeBron is also top 4 in assists.
The more you pass, the more turnovers you have, amongst all greats. Jordan was never good enough to be top 50 in assists so too bad for him.

Recency bias. Let the dust settle. People tend to be emotional with ceremonies.
Lol, did anyone else see Lebron trying to squeeze out a tear? One of the most cringe moments in NBA history. He also said he would not cry a few games back talking to a fan, saying he didnt care about it and only cared about winning. LeInconsistent, LeLiar LOL.

The most cherished record in NBA was just broken last night.

Seriously, any NBA player should have been proud of that moment. It's just that Lebron seemed to be torn between "trying" to be humble while also secretly trying to sell the idea that he is the best (opposite to being humble). If he truly were just honest with how he felt (like Ali saying he was the best even though it is SRR), then Lebron would not come out as cringey as much. Then maybe non fans could empathize more towards him.

LeBron is the GOAT, no point in these back and forth discussions anymore

Peak-prime wise, I'm still taking MJ over Bron. BUT GOAT status is your entire career resume. So when u look at it like that, I'm not gonna argue too hard if people think Bron is the GOAT. However MJ STILL has the edge in terms of solo awards. MJ STILL has the edge in terms of rings. Season scoring average wise, MJ STILL is #1 all time. Peak-prime MJ was the best TWO WAY perimeter player of all time! The ultimate assassin who was ALSO DPOY!!!
And MJ was putting up 30-8-8 with DPOY caliber defense BEFORE Pip came of age. if Pip NEVER came of age, MJ would have put up MORE of those type of seasons! So this BS that MJ is the assassin while Bron is the all around player is BS!!!! MJ for the players 6'6 and under is the BEST ALL AROUND PLAYER OF ALL TIME! Bron and Giannis ALL AROUND WISE stand out a bit more BECAUSE they are positionless types of players. They have positional versatility that MJ can't match. And they are legit great scorers, passers, rebounders, and defenders (peak Bron defense) on top of it. But for players 6'6 and under, MJ was JUST AS COMPLETE for players in that size range.
While I agree Bron is the best all around player of all time, MJ WAS CONSIDERED the best all around player before Bron took that crown! What other player combined scoring, passing, rebounding, defense, and positional versatility BETTER than MJ back in the day????
And keep ONE THING IN MIND..... In terms of American TEAM SPORTS, MJ is WIDELY CONSIDERED the GOAT. With Brady right up there too. SO if u consider Bron the GOAT of the NBA, THAT MEANS he's the GOAT of American team sports. For me personally, I'm NOT QUITE ready to put him above MJ and Brady!

If Westbrick and Harden can average triple double in the modern game, then why could MJ not be able to do so. The question is, what is the value of doing it in terms of the team and winning. MJ didn't have to do everything and statpad when Pip, Horace, etc provided enough help. This in turn let Pip and the other teammates have value in the team. MJ did not have to do it all. He can capitalize on the difficult part which is scoring, and provide great D at the same time.
With Lebron, he stacks the deck with star teammates and that gives him the luxury to go for individual stats because the pressure of losing is lessened. If he can somehow show that he did enough individually then he can point fingers easily onto his teammates when they lose. It does not allow for dynasties. This notion of being the best all around player is really bron statpadding on everything but it doesn't create a winning culture that lasts. He can not develop Pippen's. He diminishes them.
