Whatever piece of propaganda you read to form this point of view must have been from a few years ago. Because even those sources have conceded at this point that it is happening. Though some are still being paid big money by certain companies to discuss how it's only partially human caused because of error bars in Antarctic data etc. There is little wiggle room there. The debate is and should have always been, what to do about it. This is where the politics is being played at this point for the most part. The Liberals have some radical and potentially dangerous solutions to the problem that need to be seriously debated with. Conservatives can't continue to ignore reality because when their bullshit blows up in their face, the public will be willing to write the Liberals a blank cheque to do whatever they deem fit to "save" them. Calling this catastrophe the american chernobyl is spot on. This "accident" is entirely the fault of the corruption and hubris of our "government" (aka Politburo).

This is going to go down as the worst environmental disaster in the history of the United States. A million pounds of Vinyl Chloride were on this train (one of the most toxic and carcinogenic substances known to man), and the combustion products created by burning VC are arguably worse... The decision to burn this stuff has potentially doomed hundreds of thousands if not millions of americans to brutal cancers and other horrible health effects.

This problem cannot be blamed on either political party, while Pete Buttplug deserves a ton of the blame for the laughably pathetic job he has done as transport secretary, the corporate republican governor of Ohio is doing everything in his power to downplay the importance and danger of this accident... and the railroad companies and their wall-street owners (zillionaire funds like blackrock and vanguard) control both parties. Norfolk Southern spent $10B on stock buybacks in the past year (yet they offer $1m to the residents of new Palestine), and the billions spent on those buybacks were made available by cutting safety measures and crew numbers (stuff that the railroad workers unions recently wanted to strike against).

Anyway, what really matters right now is if you happen to live anywhere remotely near this disaster (within ~50 miles or anywhere downwind), I hope you left a long time ago... and if not you need to leave now. VC and its byproducts can cause horrible cancers at insanely small concentrations, you dont want to be anywhere remotely close to this catastrophe.
