Default SGA improvement year over year

I assumed that his improvement was basically just a young guy breaking out, but there something else going on. He has made a clear choice to lean into things he does well and away from what he doesn't do well, specifically shooting 3s.

Last season he attempted 5.3 threes per game. This year he is down to 2.5, a very low number for a guy scoring 30+. Taking more 2s might seem like the wrong strategy but he isn't a good 3 pt shooter, shooting 30% last year. Being more selective has bumped his percentage up to 35%.

By attacking more he is getting to the foul line 3.5 more times per game. He has also improved his foul shooting, now elite at 90.4%. The end result is that his TS has improved 7% while averaging an additional 7 ppg. That is a stunning improvement.

I actually see some similarities between his game now and Jimmy Butler's.

    He has been super impressive.

OKC should have a nice core group of young players with Chet, SGA and Giddy.

Jalen Williams too. He's lowkey been the second best rookie, and in the last couple months has arguably been the best.
